I believe we need a RPG. The theme base can be anything.
i agree, but don't know how easy this would be to do.
Well, we had this whole roll playing game idea for the Zone brought up on the boards before, and the trouble with the idea is, how do you make something that caters for everybody's tastes? In fact for that matter what about the people, myself being one, who really wouldn't have any interest in the idea at all?
I see it like this. there are two ways of doing this kind of thing and really, neither of them are satisfactory for this site. We could completely change the Zone so that the whole thing becomes an RPG. Meaning that from the moment you logged in you'd effectively be playing a game. An idea that I'm sure will never fly because that's not what this site was made for. This is a community with games attached, not a game with a community attached, and I don't see that that ethos is likely to change.
The other way of doing it would be for a roll playing game to be added as a separate game but again I really don't think this is very likely to happen, though I suppose of the two options it's the more likely.
The thing is coding something like an RPG would be an immense amount of work for Jay and Chris to undertake, especially when you consider that anything they might code will have almost certainly already been done elsewhere on the Internet. I mean there are tens of thousands, possibly even hundreds of thousands of games already available online so why not just go and play them elsewhere?
I think in the end it boils down to this. Only 2 people do all of the coding for this place and I don't imagine that either of them have the time to take on a major project like this. As I said above, aside from anything else, I'm sure any game you wish to play is already available out there so it's just a question of searching.

I agree with danthere. programming takes ages, but, we do need, something so we can interact with each other, i know we do with quick notes, but a game or something.

I suppose we could take something like Legend of the Green Dragon and put it here, with a few modifications to make it our own, but, There are a bunch of LOGD deployments; find one, and have at it!
